Posts, profiles you can build on, and saved lists that nest

Busy week. Yupoodex now has posts, profile pages you can arrange yourself, saved lists that nest, and a shorter route from a QC photo to a rating.

Post on your profile

Profiles have posts now. Up to 500 characters, up to four images, replies, quotes and reposts — the shape you already know from elsewhere. Posts from the people you follow land in your feed alongside the items they save, and every post has its own page you can share with someone who isn't signed in.

You can tag people with @handle and stores with @slug in a post. Both get resolved and linked, and whoever you tagged gets a notification. Likes, replies, reposts and quotes all notify too, batched so twelve likes don't become twelve pings.

Build your profile page

Your profile is no longer a fixed layout. There's an editor at Profile → Customize where you arrange the page out of blocks: link buttons, a text block, an embed (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud), a pinned post, or a showcase of one of your saved lists with its own cover image. Reorder them, hide the sections you don't want, and pick a theme and accent colour.

Saved lists take covers and descriptions now, which is what makes a showcase block worth looking at.

Premium is gone

Every profile feature above is free, including the ones that used to sit behind Premium — accent colours, backgrounds, themes, handles. There is no paid user tier on Yupoodex any more and no upgrade page. Locking things away was costing more in people who never tried them than it was bringing in.

Saved lists nest

A saved list can hold sub-lists, up to three levels deep. "Shorts" can have "Black" and "Nike" under it.

Two things worth knowing about how it works. An item lives only in the list you saved it to — ticking a parent doesn't file it into the children. And a parent shows a rollup of everything underneath it, so you get the whole tree in one view without saving anything twice. Making a list private takes its sub-lists private with it.

QC and ratings are one form

Adding a QC photo used to be one form and rating the item another, for the same purchase. Now the QC form takes the photo, the batch, your note and an optional star rating together, and item scores come from those. Seller reviews are unchanged.

The item page got rebuilt around that: size chart, QC and similar items now sit in tabs below the fold, each with its own shareable link, and there's a share button on the item itself.

Search inside a store

Store pages have their own search and filters, scoped to that store's inventory. Type, colour, price, sort — the same controls as the main catalog, over one seller's items instead of the whole index. Handy when a store has thousands of albums and you want the black hoodies.

Short links

If you've claimed a handle, you have a short link: ypdx.me/yourname points at your profile. There's also a shortener at /links for any URL you want to shorten, and the copy button on your profile hands out the short one.

Discord and Reddit

The Discord bot picked up a few jobs. It shortens Weidian, Taobao and 1688 links people paste, so channels stop filling with 300-character URLs. It posts a card when a channel goes quiet — the most-liked item of the day, what's trending, how much the catalog grew. And /w2c still turns an image into buy links.

There's a Reddit version too, a mod app that converts marketplace and Yupoo links into agent links and a Yupoodex page in a reply. It's built and waiting on Reddit to approve our domain.

A million items

The catalog crossed a million indexed items this week, across 158 stores. It was a few thousand albums scraped by hand not that long ago.
